In November we went to the Rainwater Observatory in French Camp, MS.  Our resident expert, an astronomy professor at Alabama, arranged our visit with his colleague at the facility, Mr. Jim Hill.  The weather was cloudy Saturday and we used the time for some classroom work on the astronomy merit badge and an afternoon game of ultimate frisbee.  Clearing skies near sunset allowed solar observation, and the clear COLD night rendered perfect conditions for star-gazing.
